Honest answers.
Do I need API keys?
No. Scans run on our servers with our accounts. You add your domain, prove you own it, type your questions, and results appear.
Do I need WordPress?
No. Citolume works from your domain alone — prove ownership with a DNS record, a file or an email at the domain, and scanning starts. The WordPress plugin is optional; it adds the one thing a domain cannot show on its own, which is the log of AI crawlers actually visiting your pages, and puts the same dashboard inside wp-admin.
Which AI engines do you check?
Free checks Gemini. Starter adds ChatGPT. Growth adds Perplexity — and each engine we add after that arrives only once we've verified we can read its citations reliably.
Does this guarantee AI will cite me?
No — nobody can promise that, and you should be suspicious of anyone who does. We show you honestly where you stand — cited, mentioned without a link, or absent — and who was cited instead.
Is this the same as asking ChatGPT myself?
Close, not identical. We measure through the engines' APIs, which are a strong proxy for the consumer apps but not the same retrieval stack. Answers also vary run to run — that's why every question runs three times and we report frequency.
Will it slow down my site?
No. All scanning happens on our servers. The free features — crawler log, block check, llms.txt — run locally and keep working even if our service is down.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes, from your account at app.citolume.com. Your plan keeps working until the period ends, then falls back to free — questions over the limit are paused, never deleted.
